Fabrizio Furci is a guitarist, teacher, composer.
He regularly performs in solo recitals and chamber ensembles; he played in Italy, France, Germany, Russia, United States, United Kingdom; of particular importance is the recent artistic collaboration with the Russian opera singer Liliia Kolosova with whom he formed a stable duo that regularly holds concerts in Italy and abroad.
He won many awards in national and international competitions
Among the five recordings made – solo and chamber – the most recent one stands out, commissioned by the “J. Tomadini” Udine entitled “Canti della terra e dell’anima”. The recording contains some of the most important works of the 20th century for guitar and voice and for solo guitar; two of the composition here recorded were written and dedicated to the duo by the French composer Eric Pénicaud (Ed. Max Eschig).
After studying at the “Jacopo Tomadini” Conservatory in Udine, where he graduated in guitar in 2004 with M.o Francesco Romano with full marks, he obtained a two-year specialist II level diploma in didactic – at the “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory of Trieste (Italy) under the guidance of Maestro Pierluigi Corona and Maestro Stefano Bellon.
He also graduated with full marks and honours, again from the “J. Tomadini” of Udine, attending the two-year specialist level II course for soloists with Maestro Stefano Viola and discussing a thesis on Andalusian folk singing – Il cante jondo – and on the influences in guitar literature and classical music.
He attended masterclasses with important guitarists, musicians and teachers: Scott Tennant, David Russell, Alirio Diaz, John Hart, Jerry Bergonzi, Gerardo Nuñez, David De Elias, Manuel Barrueco, Leo Brouwer.
He has taught guitar and music theory for many years in various public and private music schools; From 2009 until now he has held the chair of guitar and music theory in the state secondary school. He wrote a teaching method for the guitar – “Basic voicing: the accompaniment of the melody on the guitar” – focused on the relationship between guitar harmony and melody.
