Cameron Buchanan is an established performer and educator. He holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Leeds and is a graduate of the Leeds College of Music, a licentiate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (contemporary guitar performance) and an associate of the London College of Music (classical guitar performance).
In the area of music education, Cameron holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (University of Strathclyde) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has been registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland since 1998.
As a performer, Cameron has appeared on BBC broadcasts, at international jazz festivals and at some of the country’s most prestigious corporate venues (Gleneagles Hotel, Glamis Castle etc.). At the moment, he is a guitar lecturer (at the University of the Highlands and Islands -to degree level) and online guitar teacher. He enjoys teaching all ages/ stages and beginners too!
- Cameron works across Scotland in a wide variety of bands and ensembles.
- He teaches guitar for the BA Honours Popular Music at the highly respected University of the Highlands and Islands in their Perth campus.
- He also enjoys teaching privately and has taught students of all ages and technical abilities from beginner to advanced.
